These terms apply when you use Solidus. Please read them before you use it. By using Solidus you agree to them.
1. Who provides Solidus
Solidus is provided by Usque Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 15314252. Our registered office is 97 Alderley Road, Wilmslow, Cheshire, England, SK9 1PT. You can contact us at support@novawallet.co.uk.
In these terms “we”, “us” and “our” mean Usque Ltd. “Solidus” means the Solidus apps for iPhone and Android, the Solidus web wallet at vsolidus.co.uk/wallet, the classic web wallet at wallet.novawallet.co.uk and the websites novawallet.co.uk and vsolidus.co.uk.
2. Who can use Solidus
You must be 18 or over to use Solidus.
3. Solidus is non-custodial
Solidus is a non-custodial wallet. Your recovery phrases and private keys are created and kept on your device. We never hold them. This means:
- You alone control your coins.
- You are responsible for keeping your recovery phrase safe and private. Write it down and keep it somewhere secure.
- If you lose your recovery phrase and your device, nobody can recover your coins. We cannot either.
- Anyone who has your recovery phrase can take your coins. We will never ask you for it.
The classic web wallet at wallet.novawallet.co.uk is an older service that works differently: your recovery phrase is handled on our server each time it shows balances or signs a transaction. We are retiring it and ask you to move to the Solidus apps or web wallet. Our privacy policy explains this in more detail.
4. Transactions are final
Transactions on a blockchain cannot be reversed, cancelled or changed once they are sent. We cannot reverse a transaction or freeze funds. Always check the address and amount before you send.
5. Network fees
Sending coins needs a network fee, which is paid to the blockchain network and not to us. Fees are set by the network and can change.
6. Third-party services
Some parts of Solidus rely on services run by others. These are separate from Solidus and have their own terms and policies. They include:
- Transak, if you choose to buy crypto. Transak carries out its own identity checks and payment processing.
- Blockchain explorers and nodes, which provide balances and history and broadcast your transactions.
- Confrmo (Confrmo Ltd), if you sign in with it or verify an address with it.
- Google and Apple, if you sign in with them.
We are not responsible for how these services work or for any loss caused by them.
7. Availability
We work to keep Solidus running but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change, suspend or stop any part of it.
8. Crypto risk warning
Please read this carefully.
- Crypto prices are volatile. They can rise or fall sharply and quickly.
- You could lose all the money you put into crypto.
- Crypto is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the way a bank is. You are unlikely to be protected by the Financial Ombudsman Service or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if something goes wrong.
- Nothing in Solidus, on our websites or in these terms is financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Prices shown are for information only.
Only use money you can afford to lose. If you are unsure, get independent financial advice.
9. Acceptable use
You must not use Solidus:
- for anything illegal, including fraud, money laundering or financing terrorism
- to try to break into, overload or interfere with our servers or other people’s accounts
- to copy, reverse engineer or misuse the service in a way the law does not allow
- using an account or identity that is not yours
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. This does not affect your coins, which stay on the blockchain under your control.
10. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or for anything else that English law does not allow us to limit or exclude. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your legal rights.
As far as English law allows, we are not liable for:
- loss caused by a lost, stolen or shared recovery phrase or device
- transactions sent to the wrong address or with the wrong amount
- changes in the price or value of any crypto
- delays, failures or errors in a blockchain network or a third-party service
- loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when you started using Solidus
- loss of business, profit or opportunity
11. Your account
You can delete your account at any time. See our delete account page. Deleting your account does not touch your coins on the blockchain.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we change Solidus or when the law changes. We will put the new version on this page and change the date at the top. If you keep using Solidus after a change, the new terms apply.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
